William Hall
Bill earned a B. S. degree from Sam Houston State University majoring in Journalism and Political Science and was named the Outstanding Graduate in Journalism. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law Houston where he served as Assistant Editor in Chief and Technical Editor of the South Texas Law Review and was named to the Order of the Lytae.
Bill began his career with the firm of Hofheinz & Harpold in Houston and remained with the successor entities of that firm until his withdrawal from Harpold, McDonald, Mueller & Hall. He then was a founding shareholder of the firm of McDonald, Hall, Rogers & Keeney, a Professional Corporation, and remained with that firm until March, 1996 when he joined Streit, Peterson, Hall & Keeney, L.L.P. as a partner.
At these firms, Bill was actively engaged in the private practice of oil and gas law with particular emphasis in areas related to writing title opinions of all kinds pertaining to exploration and production and has participated in oil and gas litigation as an expert witness and in the handling of mineral interest receiverships throughout Texas. Bill has also practiced extensively in the areas of probate and estates and real estate. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is Board Certified in the Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell, Inc. and has been a speaker before numerous professional groups and service organizations regarding oil and gas and probate topics. Bill is the former Case Notes Editor of the Oil, Gas & Mineral Law Section newsletter of the Houston Bar Association section. In addition, he has been named one of “Houston’s Top Lawyers” on twelve separate occasions by “H Texas Magazine.”
A former sports publicist for Sam Houston State, sportswriter and broadcaster, Bill is an avid follower of college and pro football and baseball. He is also a reader of mysteries and welcomes all the time he can spend with his family and dogs.
