Matthew Houghton
PartnerMatthew C. Houghton is a graduate of University of Tulsa College of Law. Matt is currently practicing natural resources law as a member of Oram & Houghton, PLLC.
Prior to forming Oram & Houghton, PLLC, he represented oil and gas production companies in a variety of matters relating to the energy industry. He drafted drilling and division order title opinions, supplemental title opinions, stand-up title opinions, as well as various oil and gas agreements. He has assisted in the representation of operators before regulatory agencies in Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota. Additionally, Matt has handled litigation matters relating to title issues, surface use issues, and probates involving mineral ownership. Matt has also worked with clients in pipeline condemnation cases and rendered title opinions necessary for the acquisition and development of coal resources.
In addition to being admitted to practice law in Wyoming, North Dakota, Montana, and Nebraska, Matt is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Districts of Wyoming and North Dakota. He served our country in the U. S. Army as a field artilleryman, and he is an Eagle Scout. He is an avid outdoorsman and spends his free time with his family hunting, fishing, and mountaineering throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
