Travis brings over two decades of experience in legal, oil & gas, business/corporate, construction/heavy industry, and insurance sectors. His career includes significant time in private legal practice and more than ten years in-house with Encana Corporation and Newfield Exploration Company, where he held various front-line and management roles.

Travis has a deep expertise in examining title for fee, federal, state, and Indian lands, and developing title curative strategies. He has also provided consultancy on natural resources and transportation projects, offering strategic analysis and advice on organization-wide and project-specific matters, including acquisition/divestment proposals, joint venture terms and conditions, and surface use and right-of-way procurement. Travis is adept at navigating federal and state agency relationships and offers practical insights on start-up concepts, partnerships, and market constraints, helping clients brainstorm solutions and assess project viability, leveraging cross-functional collaboration.

He earned a B.S. from Texas A&M University in 1997, double majoring in Rangeland Ecology (Natural Resources Conservation curriculum track) and Sociology. In 2000, he received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center, where he was awarded the Conoco Energy Studies Award.

Travis is licensed to practice law in Texas, Colorado, Washington, Montana, and Idaho.

Hailing from Montana and now residing in Spokane, Washington, Travis grew-up in the “oil patch” with a petroleum geologist father, living throughout the Rockies and the Gulf Coast.  Outside of his work at Oram & Houghton, he enjoys coaching his daughter’s soccer team, playing recreation soccer himself, outdoors activities, and exploring the Pacific Northwest and Rockies with his family and dogs.
